What is Augmented Reality(AR)?

  • Augmented reality is the technology that extends the visuality of our physical world adding layers of digital information onto it.
  • AR is the vision of physical real-world environment modulated with computer-generated image or object.
  • In AR  physical, real-world environment is overlaid by computer-generated content. Augmented reality uses an user’s existing environment and adds a digital element in it.
  • AR embeds the virtual objects(Computer generated image) in the real time environment which enhance the understanding and  functionality of the user existing environment.

What is principal of AR(Augmented Reality)?

Using a mobile application, a mobile phone's camera identifies
and interprets a marker, often a black and white barcode image.
The software analyses the marker and creates a virtual image
overlay on the mobile phone's screen, tied to the position of the
camera.
This means the app works with the camera to interpret the
angles and distance the mobile phone is away from the marker.

Principal of AR
In the given figure an user is looking towards table although what he is looking, is not a real world environment but his view  like a real environment, termed as virtual environment. There is no existence of 3-D bird in real environment ,it is mobile  generated by  mobile application, which allow the user to interact  with the 3D elements overlaid in the real environment at real time.
